MORDEN MAN JAILED FOR 17 YEARS AFTER HORRIFYING ONLINE SEX OFFENCES
A man named Glynn Ellison, aged 50 and residing on Aragon Road in Morden, was sentenced to 17 years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offences. It was discovered that Ellison uploaded mobile phone footage of himself committing sexual acts on an unconscious victim onto various pornographic websites.
The offences took place between 2010 and 2011, with the victim unaware of the assaults until the footage was found online in 2015, which led to Ellison's arrest.
Initially, Ellison denied the charges and pleaded not guilty in January.
A trial was scheduled for April, but concerns arose in February when he was found planning to flee to Northern Cyprus, especially after evidence showed large sums of money being withdrawn from his accounts.
He was detained and later given bail with conditions.
After breaching his curfew and failing to appear for the first day of trial, a court appearance was scheduled.
Despite a medical note claiming he was unfit to attend, the judge considered the evidence sufficient, and Ellison ultimately pleaded guilty to six counts of rape, 13 counts of sexual assault by penetration, and five counts of sexual touching.
Detective Constable Lyndsay Vallis expressed the importance of justice for the victim, emphasizing her bravery and the police's commitment to investigating such crimes sensitively.
