GERARD DEERY FROM STIRLING INVOLVED IN DISTURBING ONLINE CRIMES AGAINST MINORS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Stirling, a 55-year-old man named Gerard Deery has been linked to heinous online activities involving minors. The investigation into his actions was initiated after police received a credible tip-off in September 2024, prompting a thorough inquiry into his digital activities.

Law enforcement officers acted swiftly, seizing Deery’s electronic devices, including his mobile phone, to conduct a detailed forensic examination. The analysis revealed alarming evidence of his engagement in inappropriate and illegal online conversations. It was discovered that Deery had installed popular chat applications such as MeetMe and Telegram, which he used to communicate with others in a disturbing manner.

During these chats, Deery discussed sexual activities, explicitly mentioning a teenage girl known to him personally. He expressed a disturbing interest in her physical appearance and personal belongings, including used underwear, which raised serious concerns about his intentions and mindset. Further investigation uncovered that he had shared and discussed inappropriate images involving children dressed in school uniforms. These images appeared to have been sourced from social media platforms, and Deery made offensive comments about the children depicted in them.

The police also found a secure folder on his phone containing explicit images of the teenage girl, which added to the gravity of the case. Despite the evidence, Deery claimed during court proceedings that the chats were “fantasy chats only” and denied any genuine attraction to underage individuals.
