GEORGE MCKEE SHOCKS JOHNSTONE AND PAISLEY WITH HORRIFIC CRIME AGAINST DYING TEENAGER

In June 2014, George McKee, who now resides in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, was involved in a heinous crime that shocked the local community and drew widespread condemnation. The events leading up to his conviction date back to July 2005, when he committed an unthinkable act against his teenage stepdaughter, Kerry, in her home in Paisley.

On that tragic day, Kerry, only 14 years old, was found to be heavily intoxicated, having consumed a mixture of alcohol and drugs, including cannabis and Valium. She had experienced multiple falls earlier in the evening, including a fall down the stairs, which left her in a vulnerable state. Despite her condition, McKee took advantage of her helplessness in her own residence, a place where she was supposed to be safe.

According to court records, McKee raped Kerry while she was unconscious, an act that was only uncovered through DNA evidence. The court heard that instead of providing aid or seeking medical assistance, McKee chose to exploit her vulnerability. The assault caused severe injuries to her private parts, consistent with a forceful sexual attack. The tragic sequence of events culminated in Kerry's death less than two and a half hours after the assault, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
