GEORGE JARVIS SWINDON SEX OFFENDER CAUGHT IN SHOCKING ONLINE GROOMING AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASES

In a series of disturbing incidents spanning several years, George Jarvis, a 35-year-old man from Pinehurst Road in Swindon, has been repeatedly involved in serious criminal activities related to sexual offenses and child exploitation.

His latest conviction came after he was caught engaging in online grooming, a crime that led to his imprisonment and further legal actions.

In July 2018, Jarvis appeared before Swindon Crown Court to face charges stemming from his online activities.

He pleaded guilty to multiple serious offenses, including engaging in sexual communication with a child, attempting to do so, and breaching a previous sexual offences prevention order.

The court was informed that Jarvis had contacted what he believed was a young girl’s online profile.

He proceeded to send a series of highly inappropriate and sexual messages, clearly indicating his desire to engage in sexual activity with the supposed minor.

However, the individual Jarvis believed to be a young girl was actually an undercover member of the online child protection team known as ‘National Child Protectors’.

This team had set up the profile specifically to catch offenders like Jarvis.

When confronted and questioned about his internet activity, police were called to arrest him.

During the investigation, Jarvis admitted to withholding a device capable of internet access from authorities.

Subsequent analysis of that device revealed that he had downloaded indecent images of children, further confirming his involvement in child exploitation.

Jarvis’s criminal history was already extensive.

He was previously known to police as a sex offender with convictions for possession of indecent images of children, acts of bestiality, stalking, and exposing himself to a teenage girl.

His past crimes underscored a pattern of disturbing behavior and a continued risk to the community.

Following his guilty plea, the court sentenced Jarvis to four years and additional measures to prevent future harm.

He was handed a 48-month prison sentence and a sexual harm prevention order was issued, which remains in effect until further notice, restricting his activities and contact with minors.

Earlier in January 2018, Jarvis faced further serious allegations.

He was charged with possessing over 900 indecent images and videos of children, including some depicting extreme acts of bestiality.

He was also accused of possessing prohibited images of children, with 242 images classified in the most severe category.

During his initial court appearance at Swindon Magistrates Court, he was granted conditional bail to appear at Swindon Crown Court on February 23.

Conditions of his bail included a prohibition on knowingly having contact with anyone under the age of 16.

Back in March 2004, Jarvis’s criminal behavior took a different form.

At that time, he was 23 years old and from Pinehurst Road, Swindon.

He committed a sexual assault on a teenage girl, which resulted in him avoiding jail time.

Instead, he was given a three-year community rehabilitation order after admitting to indecent assault and exposure.

The magistrates, led by Bob Sparling, believed that Jarvis’s mental health issues warranted treatment rather than incarceration.

The incident occurred on October 19 of that year, when Jarvis cycled past a 19-year-old woman on Cricklade Road, shouting, “How much do you charge?” She responded that she was not a prostitute.

Jarvis then exposed himself while sitting on his bicycle, and when the woman hurried home, he followed her and committed a sexual assault.

Jarvis’s behavior prompted the court to impose a six-month curfew from 7 pm to 7 am, along with a £500 compensation payment to the victim and legal costs of £130.

The magistrates emphasized the importance of treatment and supervision, reflecting their belief that Jarvis’s mental health problems played a significant role in his offending.

His case remains a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by individuals with a history of sexual offenses, especially those who continue to offend despite previous convictions and legal restrictions.
