NORTHWICH MAN FINED FOR COLLECTING CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES

A NORTHWICH man who collected images of child and animal sexual abuse for more than 10 months has been fined at court.

George Dutton, of Victoria Road, appeared at Chester Crown Court on December 23, for sentencing on five offences.

The 20-year-old was found to have 48 indecent images and videos of children in his possession between May 15, 2023, and March 19 of this year.

This includes eight category A images and 13 category A videos, 15 category B images and seven category B videos, and one category C image and four category C videos.

In this same period, Dutton also possessed four extreme pornographic images and two videos which ‘portrayed a person performing sex acts with a live animal’.

Dutton pleaded guilty to the five charges of making and possessing the indecent images at Chester Magistrates Court on November 22.

At crown court, judge Michael Leeming fined Dutton £250 and handed him an 18-month community order, within which he must complete up to 30 days of rehabilitation activity.

Judge Leeming also ordered Dutton to sign the sex offenders register for five years and made him the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.

As part of this he must register any device capable of accessing the internet with the police and hand it over to officers when requested.

Dutton must also not delete his internet history.
