July 2012 Food fetish pervert teacher being probed by watchdog after asking pupils to smear themselves in ketchup & eggs A PERVERT teacher who tried to get kids to satisfy his food fetish is being investigated by watchdogs in Scotland. Gavin Bradford, 37, asked youngsters in Canada to smear themselves with pie, ketchup, eggs and sour milk in front of webcams. At least 21 pupils were involved. Music teacher Bradford told one girl online to pour sour milk down her underwear and cover herself in ketchup, and asked a female student if she would put a pie down his pants. He told another girl he would “take delight in slowly pushing a gooey pie in her face”. A source in Canada said Bradford’s conduct was “way beyond inappropriate” and added: “The numbers of young people involved and the sustained character of the messages revealed he wasn’t fit to teach.” The incidents took place in 2006 and 2007 while Bradford was on a short-term contract in Canada. He was registered to teach pupils as young as 12. The authorities in Ontario stripped Bradford of his licence after a four-year investigation. He fled back to Scotland after the scandal, which led to the collapse of his marriage, and now lives in Glasgow’s west end. Bradford was a performing arts lecturer at Coatbridge College in Lanarkshire from January 2010 to October 2011. He took charge of a production of the musical Chess and told staff he left Canada because of his marriage break-up. Bradford is now being investigated by the General Teaching Council’s Fitness to Teach Panel. A hearing is set to take place on July 24. The Ontario authorities warned their counterparts in Scotland about Bradford’s behaviour. The GTC have no record of him currently teaching in this country. Bradford confirmed to the Record that he was aware of the GTC case. He added: “I’m not working as a teacher here and I have no comment to make.”
