CARE WORKER IN COURT SHOCKER AS SEX ASSAULT CHARGES ROCK MORAY A 46-year-old man from Elgin is set to face court after being charged with multiple sexual offences involving colleagues at a supported living service.
Gary Young has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual harassment relating to three female members of staff.
It is alleged the incidents took place while the women were working alongside him within a supported care environment — with claims that the alleged behaviour occurred in the presence of non-verbal vulnerable adults under the service’s care.
Following the allegations, Young has been suspended and is understood to be subject to action from the Scottish Social Services Council, meaning he is currently barred from working with vulnerable adults or children under PVG safeguarding measures while proceedings are ongoing.
It is also reported that Young had more recently been employed by Tesco in Elgin, but has since been removed from that position.
A trial date has yet to be confirmed, and the charges will be tested in court.
