PERTHSHIRE MAN CAUSES CHAOS ON THE A9 DURING VIOLENT EPISODE
Gary was released 5th aug 2025 to an address in Alloa.Gary Thomson, aged 31, was involved in a violent incident on October 2 where he caused a major traffic disruption on the A9 south of Perth by running back and forth across the dual carriageway during a confrontation with his ex-partner.
Police reports state that Thomson admitted to endangering motorists and officers by culpably and recklessly standing in the middle of the road, and he claimed to have a knife which led to him being Pava sprayed to subdue him.
The incident occurred around one mile from the Balhaldie filling station.
When police approached him, Thomson refused to cooperate, shouted threats to kill himself, and charged at the officers, prompting the use of Pava spray.
After falling to the ground, he was arrested and taken to a police van, where he threatened to kill officers and directed homophobic abuse at one of them.
