GARETH BULLOCK CAUGHT IN LIVERPOOL HIDING TEEN BOYS ON WINDOW LEDGE AND BED SIDE
In a disturbing incident in Liverpool, police uncovered two young boys hiding within the premises of Gareth Bullock's flat, raising serious concerns about his compliance with court orders and his ongoing criminal behavior. The events unfolded in the early hours of July 15, 2023, when authorities responded to a 999 emergency call and arrived at Bullock's residence in the Kensington area.
At approximately 4:15 am, officers knocked on the door of the third-floor flat, where Bullock, aged 40, answered and claimed he was alone.
However, the police quickly discovered evidence to the contrary.
Inside the apartment, a 14-year-old boy was found hiding down the side of Bullock's bed, attempting to conceal himself from view.
The officers' search did not end there; they also located a second juvenile, a 13-year-old boy, precariously positioned on the narrow window ledge of the same third-floor unit.
Prosecutor Shannon Stewart described the situation, emphasizing the danger faced by the 13-year-old, who was in a highly risky position, vulnerable to falling or injury.
Despite the clear evidence of the boys' presence, Bullock claimed ignorance of their whereabouts, asserting he was unaware they were in his flat.
This denial is particularly troubling given the context of his previous convictions and court orders.
Gareth Bullock has a long history of criminal activity related to indecent images and sexual harm prevention.
In August 2013, he was handed a lifelong sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) after being convicted at Preston Crown Court for making and possessing indecent images.
This order explicitly prohibited him from having unsupervised contact with boys under the age of 16.
Despite this, he was found breaching the order earlier this year, in February, when police visited his residence and discovered the same 14-year-old boy in a communal area, who reported having been in Bullock's flat.
During the recent court proceedings, Recorder David Knifton KC expressed his concerns about Bullock's awareness of the boys' presence.
While noting that there was no direct evidence of sexual intent, the judge highlighted the risks involved, especially considering Bullock's criminal history.
The court acknowledged Bullock's vulnerabilities, including learning difficulties and a history of alcohol misuse, which may have contributed to his actions and circumstances.
In light of his breaches of the SHPO and community order, Bullock was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
The case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in monitoring individuals with a history of sexual offenses and the importance of strict enforcement of court orders to protect vulnerable minors in Liverpool.
