GABRIEL CHIRWA SENTENCED IN AMESBURY FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL

Gabriel Philip Chirwa, a 38-year-old man residing on Holders Road in Amesbury, has been handed a severe prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple heinous sexual offences committed against a young girl. The sentencing, which includes an 18-year term behind bars coupled with a four-year extended license, underscores the gravity of the crimes he committed.

These disturbing offences came to light in August 2022 when the young victim confided in her mother about the abuse she had endured. According to her account, the abuse had been ongoing for approximately two years, involving multiple incidents that left a lasting impact on her well-being. The allegations detailed a series of traumatic events, including four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault by penetration, and a charge of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Chirwa vehemently denied all accusations, which led to a jury trial held at Winchester Crown Court in December of the previous year.
