FRANK LOGAN FROM MIDDLETON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN TAMESIDE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Frank Logan, a man from Middleton, has been convicted and sentenced for heinous crimes involving a young boy. The incident came to light after Logan, who was already under a sexual harm prevention order, began grooming a teenage boy he met in Tameside last year. Despite the restrictions placed upon him due to a previous conviction, Logan engaged in a pattern of manipulative and illegal behavior that culminated in a court trial.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that Logan, aged 55 and residing on Baguley Crescent in Middleton, repeatedly took the young teenager to his flat. There, he would indulge in smoking cannabis with the boy, a substance that perhaps lowered inhibitions and facilitated his predatory actions. The court heard that Logan then persistently pressured the boy into engaging in sexual activities, exploiting his vulnerability for his own perverse gratification.

Logan’s criminal history includes a conviction in 2014 for sexual activity with a child. Following that conviction, authorities imposed a sexual harm prevention order, explicitly forbidding him from having contact with any minors without the explicit consent and knowledge of a parent or guardian. Despite these legal restrictions, Logan attempted to conceal his ongoing misconduct from law enforcement agencies. However, the brave testimony of the young victim, who reported the abuse to police, played a crucial role in bringing Logan’s actions to light.

Detective Sergeant Robert Pullan, of the Phoenix Tameside child sexual exploitation team, expressed his condemnation of Logan’s actions. He stated, “Frank Logan violated this boy for his own perverse pleasure. He knew exactly what he was doing. This is not the first time he has been convicted of these types of offences — and he did it to satisfy his own selfish sexual desires.”

Sergeant Pullan also praised the victim’s courage, emphasizing that the young boy’s willingness to come forward was instrumental in securing justice. “By reporting this despicable man, the victim has helped protect others from potential harm. His bravery has been vital in ensuring that Logan faces the consequences of his actions,” he added.

The court ultimately sentenced Logan to six years in prison at Minshull Street Crown Court. The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and child protection agencies in Greater Manchester to combat child sexual exploitation and safeguard vulnerable minors. Authorities reaffirm their commitment to pursuing justice for victims and preventing similar crimes in the future, emphasizing that such offences can affect anyone, regardless of background or gender.
