FIONA ANDERSON OF EXETER CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT IN BRISTOL COURT

A police officer from Devon and Cornwall Police, Fiona Anderson, aged 32 and from Exeter, has been formally charged with sexual assault. Anderson appeared at Bristol Crown Court on January 29, 2025, where she pleaded not guilty to two charges of sexual assault alleged to have taken place in Cardiff in 2018. It was noted that she was off duty at the time of the incidents. The court was informed that Judge James Patrick scheduled the trial for March 9, 2026, with proceedings expected to last three days.

Anderson was also advised to attend a pre-trial review on January 26, 2026. She was permitted to attend remotely but was warned that missing the review without good reason could lead to her trial proceeding in her absence. The prosecution case was presented by Carina Hughes, while Jenny Tallentire acted as Anderson’s defense counsel.

The case was transferred from Cardiff Crown Court to Bristol Crown Court. Anderson has been suspended from her duties since her initial arrest in March 2023 and is currently out on conditional bail.
