EUAN ANDERSON SHAMES FALKIRK GYMNASTICS CLUB WITH SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TEENAGE GIRLS

A 22-year-old gym coach from Falkirk is now facing potential imprisonment after engaging in a series of disturbing and inappropriate online communications with two teenage girls who were members of a gymnastics club in the area. The incidents, which took place in April of the previous year, involved Anderson sending explicit images and making lewd requests via Snapchat, targeting victims aged 14 and 17 at the time.

According to the court proceedings at Falkirk Sheriff Court, the prosecutor India MacLean outlined the troubling details of Anderson’s misconduct. Both girls had been long-standing members of the gymnastics club, which was not named during the court session. It was established that the younger girl, who was 14 at the time, and the older girl, aged 17, had met Anderson through their involvement in the club, where he was known as a coach. Miss MacLean noted that the younger girl had known Anderson since she was around 11 or 12 years old, highlighting the long-standing nature of their acquaintance.

The first incident involved the older girl, who received a Snapchat message from Anderson around 10 pm on April 11, 2020. The message included a photograph of Anderson’s face, to which she responded with a picture of her eye. The prosecutor explained that Anderson continued to send her further messages, including a photo of him lying on a bed wearing only boxers, and ultimately, a highly explicit image of his genitals. The girl responded by blocking Anderson on Snapchat, but later that same evening, she received and accepted a friend request from him. Despite the previous blocking, Anderson managed to reconnect with her, and they resumed communication.

During their conversations, Anderson instructed her not to tell a specific club official about their interactions, implying a desire to keep their contact secret. He then asked her if she wanted to
