Wheelchair paedophile sentenced to a decade for child abuse

WHEELCHAIR PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO A DECADE FOR CHILD ABUSE

A PAEDOPHILE in a wheelchair was sentenced to 10 years in prison for subjecting three young girls to horrific sexual abuse.

Eric Brown, aged 67, committed these offenses against the victims between 1983 and 1996.

The abuse included indecent assault, indecency with a child, and rape, with Brown being convicted of 10 charges of indecent assault, six of indecency with a child, and one of rape.

He was arrested after one of the girls confided in her family.

During the court proceedings at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester, Brown, who suffers from arthritis and requires a wheelchair, was identified as the worst sort of offender because he forced his victims to face him again during the court ordeal.

Judge Adrian Smith addressed him directly, stating: "You are an offender who has persistently and seriously offended against children.

The psychological damage that can be caused to young children is so damaging.

Such children, when they reach maturity, find enormous difficulty in trusting people.

One girl has had real trouble in getting close to people of her own age.

That is something that features in so many cases like this.

Some have the good sense to plead guilty, but you have put your victims through this ordeal." The judge emphasized the profound impact on victims and highlighted the severity of Brown's crimes.
