Burnley Levenshulme Sexual Abuser

November 2011 Jailed: Pervert paramedic from Levenshulme who molested teenage boy in Suffolk woods A paramedic who groomed a teenage boy and then molested him in woodland has been jailed for four years. Edward Trickett, of Cromwell Grove, Levenshulme, contacted his victim via an internet chat room and twice lured him to Theberton Forest, in Suffolk, in June last year. The 30-year-old ambulance service worker, who was based at Burnley at the time of the offences but later moved to a base in Manchester, was jailed by Ipswich Crown Court after admitting six charges of sexual assault and one of meeting a child after sexual grooming. Prosecutor Michael Crimp told the court that the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had told Trickett his age in a series of conversations online. Mr Crimp said: “We say he was fully aware of the boy’s age when he drove down from the north to meet him. “When they met, Mr Trickett asked for a kiss which the boy gave to him. “They then moved to a secluded location and the victim told police he was concerned about what Mr Trickett wanted. The victim asked Mr Trickett how he felt about his age. Mr Trickett said he could do whatever he wanted to him.” Katherine Pierpoint, mitigating, said Trickett himself had been the victim of a sexual assault at the age of 14. She added: “These offences are extremely out of character for him. He is of impeccable good character up to these matters.” Judge John Devaux jailed Trickett, placed him on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and he was also banned him from working with children for life. The judge said: “You have lost your career permanently and you relationship with your family, at any rate in the short term. “But in this case there was a considerable age gap and you knew the boy’s age. “You groomed him over a series of weeks.” Trickett, who was suspended from his post with the North West Ambulance Service after the allegations came to light, was placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and banned from working with children for life.
