Edward Crookes, from Claymore Gardens, Nairn, is subject to the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences 2003 act. Back in 2012 he admitted possessing more than 1200 indecent images of children. The conviction meant he had to inform officers of any changes to his address or personal details within three days of them changing. He had attended an annual notification review with the police on June 4, 2021 when they noticed his bank card details did not match the records that officers had, the court heard. The 61-year-old had the same account but a new bank card had been issued. Sheriff Ian Cruickshank asked: “It was just a new card? But the same account?” Mr Wilson confirmed it was and the sheriff admonished Crookes.
