EDWARD ADE'S HORRIFIC ANIMAL CRUELTY IN BASINGSTOKE: DOG'S TERRIFYING SUFFERING REVEALED

In a disturbing case of animal cruelty that has shocked the community of Basingstoke, Edward Ade, born on June 25, 2004, and residing at 178 Gershwin Road, was found guilty of heinous abuse against his dog, Fendi. The incident, which took place in the town, involved the brutal infliction of injuries on the defenseless animal, leaving her with a broken spine and jaw, as well as multiple wounds caused by sharp objects.

On February 17, 2023, RSPCA inspector Josephine Story was on duty when she received a distressing report about a video circulating online that depicted the abuse of a black and tan Doberman named Fendi. The footage showed the terrified dog cowering in a confined space, pressed against a wall with bloodstains visible behind her. Her head was lowered, and she appeared to be in a state of extreme stress and fear, unable to move as the camera zoomed in on her injuries.

Throughout the video, Ade can be heard speaking in a threatening and aggressive manner, saying, “Had to pat on this b*tch, bust her head, bust her back. Yeah have you got anything else to say, you want to try and bite me still? Go on bite me, you b*tch, you b*tch.” The footage clearly captured the dog’s distress and the violence inflicted upon her.

Following the investigation, Inspector Story, accompanied by police officers, visited Ade’s residence to seize Fendi immediately. The severity of her injuries was confirmed by veterinary expert Dr. David Martin, who explained that Fendi had likely endured at least two severe beatings over a period of three to 14 days before her rescue. The injuries included fractures to her head, back, jaw, and skin, some of which were inflicted using sharp objects, indicating deliberate cruelty.

Dr. Martin detailed the immense pain and suffering Fendi would have experienced, noting that her broken jaw would have made eating extremely difficult, while her fractured spine would have caused her significant distress and mobility issues. The fractures were so severe that they would have been immediately apparent to Ade at the time they occurred, as they would have caused Fendi intense pain and required considerable force to inflict.

The veterinarian compared the injuries to those typically seen in dogs involved in car accidents, emphasizing the brutality of the abuse. Fortunately, Fendi has since recovered and has been given a new, loving home, where she can now enjoy a peaceful life away from her tormentor.

In court, Ade pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges. He was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail, ordered to pay £200 in costs, and was banned from owning or keeping animals for the rest of his life. The case has garnered significant attention in Basingstoke, highlighting the importance of animal welfare and the consequences of cruelty towards animals.
