EDGAR JUNIOR FROM HILLINGDON JAILED AFTER SEXUAL OFFENCES ON LONDON TRAIN AND BUS CRIMES

In a series of disturbing incidents spanning over two years, Edgar Junior, a man from Hillingdon, has been convicted and sentenced for multiple sexual offences, harassment, and assault. His criminal activities include heinous acts committed both on public transportation and in public spaces, leading to significant legal repercussions.

In July 2023, Junior was sentenced to 18 months in prison at Reading Crown Court for a series of serious offences that took place during a train journey from London Paddington to Reading. The court heard that on this particular trip in March 2022, the 50-year-old, who is a registered sex offender, engaged in lewd and threatening behavior towards a female passenger. Prosecutor Alice Aubrey-Fletcher detailed that Junior sat directly opposite the victim and began making inappropriate comments such as, “You’re beautiful,” and “Let me lick your p****.”

When another passenger attempted to intervene, Junior responded dismissively, calling him an ‘idiot’ and continuing to make lewd remarks, including, “Look at her, she’s beautiful, look at her body.” The situation escalated as Junior placed his hands between the woman’s legs and thighs, later grabbing his crotch and talking about his penis, while pushing his hips towards her. The victim, visibly distressed, messaged a friend saying, “This is too much,” indicating her discomfort. Fearing Junior’s anger, especially after she refused his advances, she moved to sit near other passengers in an attempt to distance herself from him.

Despite her efforts to escape his attention, Junior shifted his focus to another woman, prompting the original victim to return and tell him to stop. The entire ordeal lasted approximately 40 to 50 minutes before Junior was finally arrested at Reading Train Station. He was subsequently released on bail but continued his pattern of inappropriate behavior. Between July and September 2022, Junior made similar lewd comments to another woman. One victim recounted that she was sitting on a bench with her partner when Junior sat beside her, blowing kisses and rubbing her leg. On another occasion, she was walking home with her young daughter when she noticed Junior following her on the opposite side of the road. He crossed to be on the same street but retreated once her partner arrived, leaving her feeling “violated and shocked.” She expressed that these incidents have altered her daily routines, especially her sense of safety when walking home at night.

Judge Hassan Khan described Junior’s sentence as the “least possible sentence that the court can impose,” reflecting the severity of his actions and the impact on the victims. The case highlights the ongoing issues of public harassment and the importance of holding offenders accountable.

In a separate case dating back to June 2020, Edgar Junior, then aged 47 and residing on Uxbridge Road, Hillingdon, was convicted of multiple sexual offences against two women and two teenage girls, as well as assaulting a police officer. His crimes spanned over several investigations, culminating in a sentence of two years and one month’s imprisonment handed down at Isleworth Crown Court on June 17.

Details of his offences include an incident on February 11, 2019, when a 14-year-old girl was on a Route 427 bus from Uxbridge. Junior approached her, sat in front of her, and began making sexual suggestions. Despite her attempts to ignore him, he persisted, and when he tried to touch her, she threatened to call the police. The girl managed to leave the bus out of fear. Police later identified Junior as the perpetrator.

Another victim, a 26-year-old woman, was traveling alone on the same bus route on April 28, 2019, when Junior boarded and began to behave inappropriately, touching himself and shouting that he wanted to have sex with her. She disembarked at the next stop to escape his advances.

Between June and July 2019, Junior harassed a third woman at her workplace, making repeated sexual suggestions and advances, including towards her teenage relative. Around July 10, 2019, he approached a young girl while she was loading a car and attempted to kiss her. Later that month, he threatened violence against the same woman, prompting her to contact police. During his arrest, Junior spat in the face of an officer and denied all allegations.

Following multiple hearings, Junior pleaded guilty to various charges, including sexual communications with minors, attempted sexual assault, public order offences, common assault, and assault on an emergency worker. His total sentence amounted to 25 months in prison, and he was also subjected to a restraining order prohibiting contact with certain victims.

These cases underscore the persistent threat posed by individuals like Edgar Junior and the judicial system’s efforts to deliver justice for victims of sexual misconduct and harassment. His actions have left lasting scars on those affected, and his sentencing aims to serve as a warning to others engaging in similar criminal behavior.
