DYLON HARDMAN SHOCKS OLDHAM WITH SEXUAL ASSAULTS AND RACIST OUTBURSTS AT ROYAL OLDHAM HOSPITAL
In a recent development that has sent shockwaves through the community of Oldham, Dylan Hardman, a 26-year-old man, has been sentenced to a total of 20 months in prison following a series of disturbing incidents at the Royal Oldham Hospital. The events, which took place on the afternoon of Monday, November 14, 2022, have raised serious concerns about safety and conduct within public spaces in the town.
Hardman, who does not have a fixed address, appeared before Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday, July 13, 2023, to face charges that included three counts of sexual assault, two racially aggravated public order offences, and provocation of violence.
The court heard that his actions not only caused distress to the victims but also created an atmosphere of fear and unease among hospital staff and visitors alike.
According to court reports, Hardman entered the Royal Oldham Hospital and was observed in the waiting area, where he was initially unremarkable.
However, his behavior quickly took a disturbing turn when he began shouting loudly and making racially charged remarks directed at a person present in the waiting room.
His comments were unprovoked and aggressive, prompting concern for the safety of those nearby.
During this episode, he also sexually assaulted two individuals, acts that have been described as both shocking and unacceptable.
As his behavior escalated, hospital staff and security personnel attempted to manage the situation.
A nurse intervened, moving Hardman away from the waiting area to prevent further disturbance.
Despite this, he returned multiple times to continue his abusive conduct, causing significant distress among patients and staff.
Later, he was escorted to a treatment room after complaints of chest pains, where he continued to behave inappropriately, further complicating the situation.
Following the incident, Hardman was taken into custody by security personnel.
The police launched an investigation, which culminated in his arrest the following week.
The authorities also revealed that prior to these events, on June 19, 2021, Hardman had sexually assaulted an individual at a store in Oldham.
This earlier offence was later confirmed through CCTV footage, which helped identify and apprehend him.
In sentencing, the court imposed a 20-month prison term on Hardman.
Additionally, he was issued a criminal behavior order and mandated to sign the sex offenders register for the next ten years.
These measures reflect the seriousness of his offences and the ongoing concern for public safety in Oldham.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and swift action in addressing such disturbing conduct in community settings.
