DOMESTIC ABUSER JAILED AFTER SLAPPING WOMAN TO FACE
An Oldham man accused of domestic abuse was sentenced to prison after failing to comply with a restraining order and assaulting a woman.
Jordan Davies appeared before Manchester Magistrates' Court on Friday, April 24, where he admitted to three violations of a domestic abuse protection order (DAPO) and one count of assault by beating.
The 29-year-old had been subject to a DAPO since October of the previous year, the purpose of which was to shield victims of domestic violence.
Shortly after the order was issued, Davies violated it by not informing police of his new address.
On April 22, Davies, from Anchor Street in Oldham, breached the order again in Hyde, Tameside, by going to the address of a person he was barred from seeing and requesting accommodation.
The following day, he returned to the same address, where he physically assaulted a woman by slapping her and then refused to leave.
He was sentenced to 16 weeks behind bars for the breaches and the assault.
