TRANENT MAN SENTENCED AFTER VIOLENT ATTACK ON HIS GIRLFRIEND.

A man named Dylan Brown from Tranent was involved in an assault on his girlfriend after she informed him that he was not the biological father of her child. The incident occurred at a bus stop in Prestonpans when Brown and his partner were waiting at Bankton Terrace. Court proceedings revealed that Brown reacted violently following the revelation, leading to a physical struggle where he grabbed and kicked her. After the assault, Brown boarded a bus alone, and the police were contacted by a witness who observed the attack around 10:40 PM on August 20 last year. Police stopped the bus in Wallyford, and Brown was arrested and charged. During court hearings, it was stated that Brown and the woman had just ended their relationship on the night of the attack and that Brown was already serving a community payback order for a previous offense. The court heard that Brown was left 'extremely upset' by the news and was willing to comply with a non-harassment order. Sheriff Peter McCormack imposed a 12-month non-harassment order prohibiting any contact with the woman. Besides this assault case, Brown, aged 21, faced sentencing for dangerous driving and failing to stop for police on two occasions, involving driving at excessive speeds, swerving onto the opposite carriageway, and colliding with stationary vehicles. He was banned from driving for 21 months, ordered to perform 135 hours of unpaid work, and must pass an extended driving test before driving again.
