SUDBURY MAN ADMITS HAVING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A man will be sentenced next year after admitting having seven indecent images of children.
The 46-year-old Duncan Grant appeared in the dock at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to two charges of making indecent images of children.
Indecent images of children are ranked in categories A, B and C, with category A images being the most serious.
Grant, who is of no fixed address but from the Sudbury area, admitted to having five category C images and two category B images.
The presiding magistrates decided that a pre-sentence report was needed before they could sentence Grant.
He will next appear before the court on January 6 next year.
What does ‘making’ indecent images mean?
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the word “making” can be interpreted in a variety of ways by courts.
Meanings include, but are not limited to, opening an email attachment, downloading an image, and accessing a pornographic website in which indecent images appear by way of a 'pop-up'.
