DREW DAVIDSON FROM KINGHORN AND OAKLEY BANNED FROM NEW RELATIONSHIPS AFTER DOMESTIC ABUSE IN FIFE

Drew Davidson, a man with a long history of domestic violence, has been subjected to a court order that restricts him from forming new romantic or domestic relationships without prior approval from social workers. The 28-year-old, who hails from Oakley in Fife, has been recognized as a persistent offender since he was just 13 years old, with a troubling pattern of violence and aggressive behavior directed towards women.

Recently, Davidson appeared before Perth Sheriff Court to face charges related to a violent incident that took place in Kinross last month. He pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, which was domestically aggravated, during an incident on Dalwhamie Street in Kinross on November 1. The court heard that Davidson shouted, swore, and issued threats while repeatedly striking a door with his hand and kicking at a gate. Court documents also detailed how he threw a bin and adopted an aggressive stance during the confrontation.

When police arrived at the scene, Davidson's behavior escalated further. He attempted to seize equipment from one of the officers and made a series of offensive remarks. During his transport in the police van, he continued his aggressive conduct by repeatedly striking his head against the wall and kicking the vehicle. Witnesses and officers described his conduct as highly disruptive and threatening.

Gino Gambale, representing Davidson, acknowledged his client’s poor behavior, stating, “He accepts that his behaviour was poor. He knows his conduct was not what it should have been.”

Sheriff Jennifer Bain KC addressed Davidson directly, emphasizing the severity of his criminal history. She noted, “You have been a persistent offender since the age of 13 and there are no significant gaps in your offending. There is a chronic pattern of domestic offending against multiple women. And I note that there is a high risk of you re-offending in a similar manner.”

Despite concerns about his attendance at a rehabilitation program, the sheriff decided to give Davidson a final chance. Instead of imprisonment, she ordered him to be placed under supervision for two years, with strict conditions. He is required to complete the Caledonian domestic abuse rehabilitation program and disclose any new intimate or domestic relationships to his supervising officer. Additionally, Davidson must engage in alcohol treatment and support services to address underlying issues.

It was also revealed that Davidson had previously appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, where he admitted to a campaign of harassment against an ex-girlfriend. The court heard that he had terrified her with over 650 calls and messages, many of which were abusive and threatening, over a period of just six days. This history underscores the ongoing pattern of violent and threatening behavior that has marked Davidson’s conduct over the years, particularly towards women in the Fife area, including Kinghorn and Oakley.
