DOMINIC OSBORNE ROBINSON SENTENCED IN PORTSMOUTH FOR POSSESSION OF INDECENT IMAGES
A known paedophile, Dominic Osborne Robinson, was sentenced after being found with over 1,000 indecent images of children.Robinson, 34, was discovered to be in possession of a vast collection of images depicting the abuse of minors.
Police executed a raid on his home in Portsmouth after receiving information that he had been uploading such images and engaging in online conversations about abusing children.
During the search, officers confiscated three phones, a laptop, a tablet, and multiple cameras.
These devices contained a mixture of Category A, B, and C indecent images, alongside sexually explicit communications with children.
Robinson was arrested on January 28, 2019, at his workplace in Portsmouth.
He appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Tuesday, facing charges including three counts of making indecent photographs of children, two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and one count of encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence in the belief that it would be committed.
Robinson admitted guilt to these charges.
Residing on Midway Road in Colchester, Robinson was sentenced to 20 months in prison for possession of indecent images.
He is also required to register as a sex offender for ten years and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration.
DC Stephen Hill of Hampshire Constabulary’s Internet Child Abuse Team commented, “Behind every indecent image of a child is a vulnerable victim, and these crimes are among the most appalling that we investigate.
Robinson is a habitual collector of such images, including Category A, which are the most serious, for his own sexual gratification.
He was found not only to possess these images but also to actively seek to communicate with children.
Tackling online viewing of indecent images and safeguarding children online remains a police priority, and we will continue our efforts to bring offenders like Robinson to justice.”
