BURNLEY MAN BREACHES RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER PARTNER ASSAULT
A man identified as Dominic McEvoy breached a restraining order that was imposed on him following an assault on his former partner.
According to court reports, McEvoy, 33, of Prince Street, Burnley, made a series of offensive contacts with his ex-partner, receiving 18 phone calls from her.
During these calls, he not only contacted her multiple times over a period from May 3 to May 12 but also issued an apology for earlier abusive behavior.
McEvoy had previously pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, with the order originally imposed by the crown court on September 11 for a period of five years.
The court heard details that he started asking about their child in the calls and then turned abusive, accusing her of infidelity while he was incarcerated.
The victim reportedly experienced significant stress and expressed that McEvoy needed mental health support.
McEvoy was sent to custody for sentencing at the crown court.
