DINO FIORE SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES IN NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME
In a significant case that has shocked the community of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Dino Fiore, aged 38, has been handed down an 18-year prison sentence after being convicted of serious child sexual offences. The crimes took place over a period spanning from February 2021 to May 2022, during which Fiore engaged in reprehensible acts against a young victim.Fiore’s trial, which concluded in April of this year, resulted in a guilty verdict on four counts: two counts of rape of a child and two counts of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity. The court heard detailed evidence of the abuse, which has left a lasting impact on the victim and the community at large.
Judge Smith, presiding over the case, clarified that while the abuse was severe, it did not constitute a “campaign of rape,” a term often used in cases involving prolonged and systematic abuse. Nonetheless, the judge emphasized the gravity of Fiore’s actions and described him as an “offender of particular concern,” reflecting the serious nature of his crimes.
Under the terms of the sentence, Fiore is required to serve two-thirds of his term, amounting to 12 years, before he becomes eligible for parole consideration. Once released, he will be subject to the remainder of his sentence in the community, along with an additional 12 months on licence, ensuring ongoing supervision and restrictions.
Furthermore, Fiore has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life, a measure that mandates continuous monitoring and registration with authorities. He is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to prevent any future offending. Additionally, a lifelong restraining order has been issued, explicitly prohibiting him from having any contact with his victim, thereby providing some measure of protection for the victim and preventing further harm.
Community members and advocacy groups have expressed relief at the conviction and sentencing, hoping it will serve as a warning to others and reinforce the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from predators like Dino Fiore in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
