WOMAN'S BOYFRIEND JAILED AFTER BRUTAL ATTACK LEAVES HER WITH BROKEN SPINE AND UNBORN BABY DEAD
A woman, Kirsty Williams, was punched out of a first-floor window by her boyfriend, Dean Smith, during an attack at her flat in Worcester's St John's area.
Williams, who was four months pregnant at the time, was beaten for 90 minutes, with Smith hitting her with a pool cue and punching her so forcefully that she was thrown out of a window.
She sustained a broken spine in two places, a broken heel, and a broken arm, and was in Worcester Royal Infirmary for 10 weeks.
Smith, aged 24, was jailed for five years after admitting causing grievous bodily harm, though Williams considered the sentence too lenient.
She has since moved to Wellingborough and is expecting another baby.
She described the attack as being motivated by Smith's drunken rage and violent behavior, knowing she was pregnant by him.
"He punched me in the stomach until I was bleeding, knowing I was pregnant by him," she said.
