DEAN MANNIFIELD FROM WARRINGTON INVOLVED IN BRUTAL DOG CRUELTY AND GUN THEFT IN ESSEX AND NORTH WALES

Dean Mannifield, also known as Dean Pitts, born around 1993, originally hails from Warrington but currently has no fixed address. His criminal activities have spanned multiple locations, including Colchester, Harlow, and Epping in Essex, as well as Rhyl in North Wales. Mannifield's criminal record is extensive and marked by violent and disturbing acts, most notably a heinous incident involving the abuse of a dog during a burglary.

In July 2017, Mannifield faced serious charges after causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. The incident involved him beating a dog so severely that veterinary professionals determined the injuries were beyond repair, leading to the animal being euthanized. This act of cruelty was part of a broader pattern of violent behavior that has characterized Mannifield's criminal history.

In addition to the animal cruelty charges, Mannifield was also accused of assaulting a couple, making threats to three individuals present at the scene, and threatening to cause criminal damage. His violent conduct extended beyond domestic issues, as he also admitted to breaking into a gun shop in Colchester, where he stole seven hunting shotguns. This theft posed a significant threat to public safety and demonstrated his willingness to engage in serious criminal activity.

As a result of his actions, Mannifield was sentenced to five years and ten months in prison. Additionally, he was issued an indefinite restraining order to prevent any contact with his victim. He is expected to serve half of his sentence behind bars before being released on licence, under strict conditions designed to monitor and control his future conduct.
