DEAN HRISTOV, KETTERING SEX OFFENDER, SENTENCED AFTER PREDATORY ATTACKS IN KETTERING AND LONDON ROAD
In June 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Dean Hristov, a 40-year-old man from Kettering, who was convicted of multiple sexual assaults that inflicted significant fear and distress upon his victims. Hristov, who was employed at a local kebab shop in Kettering, was found guilty of committing four separate attacks within the town during April of the previous year. The court proceedings revealed that Hristov had targeted women and children in various locations around Kettering. Specifically, he was accused of touching two children on London Road, an incident that left the young victims feeling vulnerable and frightened. Additionally, he sexually assaulted a woman in Rockingham Road, further adding to the community’s concern about his predatory behavior.
Furthermore, just twelve days prior to these incidents, Hristov had assaulted another woman in School Lane. The aftermath of this attack left the woman feeling anxious and overly cautious, highlighting the lasting psychological impact of his actions. Prosecutor Paul Prior emphasized the emotional toll on the victims, stating, “She is disgusted that a man touched her and she was not able to do anything to prevent it.”
Hristov, who was previously residing on Silver Street, was detained and spent over a year on remand before his sentencing. Yesterday, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison. The court also ordered that upon completion of his sentence, Hristov would be deported back to Turkey, his country of origin, as part of the legal proceedings.
Following the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Mark Webb of Kettering CID expressed his thoughts on the case. He stated, “Hristov’s persistent offending caused his victims significant fear and distress, and I hope the fact he is now behind bars brings them some comfort. Everyone has the right to go about their life without being harassed or assaulted. The conviction of this predator shows Northamptonshire Police will not tolerate sexual abuse in any form, and that we will do all we can to bring perpetrators to justice.”
In addition to his prison sentence, Judge Michael Fowler imposed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Hristov. This order restricts his contact with children should he attempt to return to the UK in the future, aiming to prevent any further harm and protect potential victims from his predatory behavior.
