DEAN HILL, WEYMOUTH PAEDOPHILE, SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS FOR HORRIFIC ABUSE

In a case that has shocked the community of Weymouth, Dean Paul Hill has been handed a severe prison sentence after being found guilty of a series of heinous sexual offences involving a young girl. The sentencing took place at Dorchester Crown Court, where Hill, aged 31 and residing on King Street in Weymouth, was convicted of a total of 14 separate charges related to the sexual abuse of the girl over an extended period of time.

Hill’s criminal activities came to light after a lengthy trial that revealed disturbing details about the abuse. The jury was informed that the offences spanned over eight years, beginning when the victim was just seven years old. The court heard that Hill had subjected the girl to a range of sexual acts, including rape, indecent assault, and other forms of sexual misconduct. Hill faced accusations of raping the girl five times, indecently assaulting her, engaging in acts of indecency with a child on two occasions, and sexually assaulting her by penetration when she was under 13. Additionally, he was charged with inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity and causing or encouraging such acts.

During the trial, Hill also denied a 14th charge involving a separate sexual assault on a woman in February of the same year. The court proceedings revealed that Hill’s abuse began when the girl was only seven years old, and that she had initially kept quiet out of fear and feeling threatened by him. The victim testified that, by the age of 13, Hill had forced her into full sexual intercourse, a revelation that added to the gravity of his crimes.

Throughout the trial, Hill maintained his innocence, denying five charges of rape and other allegations. His defense attorney, Christopher Parker, acknowledged the seriousness of the offences but did not offer any mitigation, stating, “So far as the facts of the offences are concerned there is no mitigation which can properly be advanced in this case.”

Judge Roger Jarvis delivered the sentence, which included a life-long order to register as a sex offender. As Hill stood with his head bowed during the verdict, he was visibly emotional, breaking down in tears when the sentence was announced. The judge sentenced him to 13 years for the offences related to the young girl and an additional two years for the sexual assault involving the woman.

In his remarks, Judge Jarvis condemned Hill’s actions, describing them as “the vilest of offences” committed over a period of seven or eight years. He emphasized the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon the victim, stating, “You caused her physical pain, never mind the emotional distress that she will carry throughout the rest of her life.” The judge concluded that Hill’s crimes warranted a very significant period of incarceration, reflecting the severity of his conduct.

Following the sentencing, Weymouth CID’s Detective Constable Ed Meanwell expressed his relief and satisfaction, saying, “I am just really pleased for the victim’s family because I know how much this conviction will mean to them.” The case has left a lasting impact on the community, highlighting the importance of justice for victims of such appalling crimes.
