WHITEHAVEN MAN DEAN BROUGH SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENCES IN CARLISLE

In a recent court ruling at Carlisle Crown Court, a resident of Whitehaven, Dean Brough, aged 21, was formally convicted and sentenced for serious sexual offences committed in 2019. The court heard that Brough, who resides on Rannerdale Drive in Whitehaven, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a female victim in West Cumbria several years ago.

The sentencing took place on March 14, 2025, and Brough received a custodial term of two years and five months. This sentence reflects the gravity of the offences and the court’s commitment to addressing sexual misconduct. In addition to his prison sentence, Brough was subjected to stringent post-release conditions, including a ten-year Sex Offender Notification Requirement, which mandates regular registration and monitoring by authorities.

Furthermore, the court imposed a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on Brough. This order is designed to restrict his activities and interactions to prevent any future harm, and it includes various restrictions aimed at safeguarding the community from potential risks posed by him.
