DEAN BEER FROM CWMBRAN AND STOKE-ON-TRENT JAILED FOR HORRIFIC CRIMES INVOLVING ANIMAL ABUSE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Cwmbran and Stoke-on-Trent, 56-year-old Dean Beer has been sentenced to prison for heinous acts involving animal abuse and the possession of indecent images of minors. The case came to light after police investigations uncovered a series of deeply disturbing activities linked to the defendant, whose actions have sparked widespread condemnation. It was in July 2020 when authorities, acting on information provided by the National Crime Agency, executed a search at Beer’s residence. The police recovered a mobile phone, specifically a Land Rover device, which contained a horrifying collection of images and videos. Among these were photographs of young girls aged between 13 and 15, as well as extreme pornographic material depicting women engaged in penetrative acts with animals such as dogs and a horse. The investigation revealed that Beer had actively searched for the term 'dog porn' on six separate occasions, indicating a premeditated interest in such depraved content.
The police also discovered a disturbing Facebook Messenger conversation between Beer, who was known as 'Taffy Dean,' and an unidentified individual. This exchange was particularly shocking, as it involved explicit discussions about the sexual abuse of Beer’s own pet dog. The conversation encouraged Beer to record himself performing a sexual act on his dog, which he subsequently did. The footage was then sent to the other person involved in the chat, further evidencing the extent of his depravity.
During the court proceedings, prosecutor Maria Brannan detailed the findings, emphasizing the severity of the crimes. She explained that the police had found images of young girls and explicit material involving animals, including still images and videos of adult women engaging in penetrative acts with dogs and a horse. The evidence also showed that Beer had used the term 'dog porn' six times in his online searches, highlighting his persistent interest in such material.
In court, Beer pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including possession of indecent images of children, possession of extreme pornographic images, engaging in sexual acts with an animal, and publishing obscene material. The judge, Fletcher, described the exchanges on Facebook as some of the most sickening he had ever encountered in his judicial career. He condemned Beer’s actions as both shocking and depraved, particularly noting the act of penetrating his own pet dog with his penis.
As a result of his convictions, Beer was sentenced to nine months in prison. Additionally, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for the same duration. The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the mobile phone, ensuring that such material could not be further disseminated or accessed.
Dean Beer’s case has left a lasting impact on the communities of Cwmbran and Stoke-on-Trent, highlighting the importance of vigilant law enforcement and the ongoing fight against such heinous crimes. His actions serve as a stark reminder of the depths of depravity that can exist and the necessity for continued efforts to protect vulnerable individuals and animals from harm.
