GUISBOROUGH MAN JAILED FOR MULTIPLE ASSAULTS ON PARTNER AFTER DRUNKEN RAGE

A repeat attacker of women has been sentenced to jail after a prolonged assault incident. Dean Allinson, aged 27, consumed 26 bottles of beer and two bottles of wine before allegedly assaulting his partner. Court proceedings revealed that Allinson punched Helen Goody’s arm, slapped her with the back of his hand, and verbally abused her. Prosecutor Oliver Thorne detailed that Allinson then physically assaulted her by beating her about the head while she was lying on a bed. Despite his attempts to drag her back, Ms. Goody managed to escape. She sustained a dislocated jaw and a bloody nose during the attack on October 13. It was also disclosed that this was Allinson’s 102nd offence, and he has prior convictions for assaulting former partners, having served jail terms previously. Legal counsel Tom Mitchell argued that the injuries caused were not permanent and highlighted that Ms. Goody was present in court supporting Allinson and hoped to reconcile their relationship. The defense attributed much of Allinson’s behavior to intoxication, stating, “The problem here is drink. His girlfriend says when he hasn’t got drink inside him he’s perfectly reasonable and able to make the right choices.” Recognizing the severity of the offense, Judge Tony Briggs sentenced Allinson to 12 months in prison, asserting, “Custody is in my judgment inevitable.”
