DAWOOD KHAN AND SHOCKING RAPE INCIDENT IN LUTON AND MILTON KEYNES
A man from Luton who committed a heinous sexual assault and subsequently fled the country has been sentenced to significant prison time.Dawood Khan, aged 41, was convicted for raping a teenage girl after a sequence of disturbing events that unfolded in March 2022.
The ordeal began in Milton Keynes when Khan encountered the young girl who was alone and visibly distressed.
According to reports, he approached her and pretended to offer assistance, usefully engaging with her under false pretenses.
He then orchestrated a taxi, arranging for her to be taken to an address in Luton.
Once at the property located on St Mildreds Avenue, Khan committed the assault, raping the teenage victim.
Despite the traumatic experience, the brave girl managed to summon the courage to leave the premises.
Utilizing a mobile phone belonging to a bystander, she was able to call for help, which ultimately led to authorities being alerted about her assault.
Her swift action was instrumental in ensuring that her attacker could be brought to justice.
Following the crime, Khan did not stay in the country but instead chose to flee abroad.
His absence caused a significant delay in the legal proceedings, but justice was eventualy served.
After three months on the run, Khan was apprehended and extradited back to the UK from France, after he turned himself in at a police station in Paris.
In May, during a two-week trial held at Luton Crown Court, Khan was found guilty of the serious charge of rape.
The court’s decision reflected the severity of his crime and its impact on the young victim.
On Friday, August 11, Khan was officially sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Taking into account the danger his actions posed, the court also imposed an extended three-year license period, emphasizing the seriousness of his record and the potential risk he continues to pose to the public.
