December 2020 Predatory paedophile abused, raped and photographed victims in catalogue of sickening crimes The former owner of a double glazing firm was branded a predatory paedophile and jailed for 15 years for rape and other sexual offences. David Veall, 64, had thousands of indecent images stored on his computer when he was arrested by Humberside Police. He admitted a total of 25 offences carried out between December 2013 and November 2014. Sentencing him Judge David Tremberg said he was a “predatory paedophile” and said the offences were “exceptionally grave.” “You knew what you were doing was seriously wrong. Your offending involved planning and grooming. You gained sexual gratification by filming your acts,” the judge told. He added: “The full impact of what you have done may not rear its ugly head for years to come.” Prosecuting, Michael Greenhalgh said Veall, 64, of Old Vicarage in Appleby pleaded guilty to 25 sickening sex offences. He said he owned a double glazing firm and lived in a large house and enjoyed foreign holidays, travelling extensively in Vietnam and Thailand. The prosecutor said his victims came forward after learning about sex education in school. Police arrested Veall and found thousands of images on his computer some of them of the most vile nature, including one of sex with a dog. They also found videos he had filmed of himself with his victims.
