CARMARTHEN MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER BRUTAL MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND
David Thomas O'Sullivan, aged 28, was convicted for the murder of his girlfriend, Charmaine Macmuiris, aged 37.
The incident occurred on Christmas Eve when O'Sullivan, having been together with Charmaine for only three weeks, became convinced she was seeing another man.
This led to a violent attack inside his home where he punched her and then stabbed her at least 10 times in a bedroom, leading to her death.
The police visited his home earlier that night after receiving a complaint about threatening text messages, but he claimed everything was fine, and officers left unaware of her critical injuries.
After the attack, he made some attempts to clean her up and laid her on a bed, where she likely bled to death.
Her body was only discovered the next day when his parents visited him.
O'Sullivan initially denied the killing but pleaded guilty as his trial was about to start.
The judge described the murder as 'a vicious and brutal killing' and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a minimum of 14 years to serve.
