DAVID REID FROM MANCHESTER AND WITHINGTON SENTENCED FOR HISTORIC SEX OFFENCES
In a significant case that has drawn considerable attention, David Reid, a man with deep ties to Manchester and the Withington area, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a series of serious sexual offences committed in the early 1980s.The offences involved a young girl who was subjected to repeated acts of abuse and rape over a span of three years, with the crimes taking place predominantly in the Moss Side district of Manchester.
Reid, aged 55 at the time of sentencing, was previously known as a guitarist for the Manchester-based band X-O-Dus.
