A man employed as a delivery driver in Manchester has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in Northwich.
Rana Jahangir, aged 25 and residing on Collington Close in Manchester, was found guilty of one count of sexual assault after a trial at Chester Crown Court, which concluded on Friday, 27 February 2026.
He received a prison sentence of two years and four months.
Additionally, Jahangir was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years and was issued a restraining order that prohibits him from making contact with the victim.
According to court proceedings, the incident occurred on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, when Jahangir delivered food to an address on Shipbrook Road in Rudheath.
Following the delivery, he grabbed the woman from behind, initiating hugging and kissing that lasted over a minute despite her repeated pleas for him to stop.
Initially, the victim chose not to report the assault to police but instead filed a complaint with the delivery company.
After discussing the incident with friends, she then contacted law enforcement on Wednesday, 3 September, leading to Jahangir's arrest.
During questioning, Jahangir denied the assault and claimed the interaction was consensual.
However, part of the incident had been recorded on a mobile phone without his knowledge, which contributed to his charge of sexual assault.
