PRESTON PAEDOPHILE DAVID NAPPIN SENTENCED AFTER BEING CAUGHT BY ONLINE PREDATOR HUNTERS
In September 2018, authorities successfully apprehended David Nappin, a 34-year-old resident of Preston, Lancashire, following a targeted operation by the vigilant paedophile hunting team known as 'Catching Online Predators.' After a thorough investigation and subsequent court proceedings at Preston Crown Court, Nappin was handed a significant sentence for his disturbing criminal history.He was sentenced to four years in prison, with a minimum term of three years to be served before eligibility for parole.
Additionally, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which will only be reviewed after a period of 15 years, reflecting the severity of his offenses and the ongoing risk he poses.
It was revealed that Nappin had a troubling criminal record, with two prior convictions dating back to 2011 and 2014.
These convictions involved a total of 23 separate counts related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children, highlighting a long-standing pattern of offending behavior.
Further breaches of his current SHPO were also documented.
Nappin failed to notify authorities of his change of address, a legal requirement designed to monitor individuals at risk of re-offending.
He also did not inform authorities that he was living with a female and her children, nor did he disclose the presence of any device capable of accessing the internet, which could potentially be used to commit further offenses.
