July 2007 Jail for sex assault on boy A SEX abuser who idecently assaulted a boy was jailed for 18 months. At an earlier hearing, David Morgan, 61, of Gurnos Estate, Ebbw Vale, was found guilty of two charges of indecently assaulting a teenage boy. Recorder Christopher Vosper warned him then that he would face custody. At Cardiff crown court, Morgan was jailed and has been ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years. He was also disqualified from working with children for life. Prosecutor Harry Baker said that Morgan and the boy sat together and Morgan put on a pornographic film. Morgan then touched him indecently. Mr Baker later said Morgan he made indecent suggestions and there was more indecent behaviour. On another occasion said Mr Baker, Morgan indecently assaulted the victim in his car when he parked in a layby. “The boy had the courage to tell Morgan to stop which he did,” said Mr Baker. Gradually, as the years went by what took place weighed on the boy’s mind, Mr Baker said. He told his girlfriend about the incidents and an official complaint was made to the police. When arrested, Morgan accepted he committed the acts which he recollected but said the boy was over 16 and fully consented.
