In a significant development within the medical community, Dr. David Moore, a former senior doctor practicing in Birmingham, has been officially removed from the medical register following his conviction related to child pornography offenses. Although he was not sentenced to prison, he was mandated to participate in a Sex Offender Group Work Programme and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of five years.

The case revealed troubling details about Moore’s online activities. According to the GMC, Moore had registered on the social networking site Hi5 in March 2006. During the registration process, he falsely entered his date of birth as 1992, which would have made him appear as a 14-year-old male. This act was considered highly inappropriate and unprofessional, with authorities suggesting that his actions were sexually motivated. The images involved in the case were not of very young children but rather teenagers, with evidence indicating that Moore’s primary interest was in searching for adult pornography rather than images of young children.

Further investigations uncovered that police officers executed a raid on Moore’s residence, seizing his computer equipment. Forensic analysis of his devices revealed that Moore had viewed indecent images on various websites over a span of approximately 20 minutes. Despite his efforts to erase his browsing history by installing a program designed to wipe such data, forensic experts were able to reconstruct the sites he had visited. This detailed examination provided concrete evidence of his online activities.

The investigation was initiated after a complaint was made by an acquaintance of Moore’s, who had received an email from him. In the email, Moore expressed a desire to start a new life in Spain, which was seen as a possible attempt to evade the consequences of his suspension from the GMC.
