November 2018 Grandfather who asked children for sex and shared images involving animals is locked up A grandfather tried to incite children into sexual activity and shared images and videos – some involving animals – which were described as “unspeakable in the extreme”. David Masters, 71, had more than 2,000 images and videos in the highest category of offensive photographs. He admitted 11 offences in total, including attempting to incite children to sexual activity, possession of indecent images and distribution of indecent images. Sentencing Masters at Grimsby Crown Court, Recorder Christopher Knox said: “You distributed these (images) enthusiastically and you have not been helpful in identifying those with whom you shared them. They are unspeakable in the extreme.” Prosecuting, Claire Holmes said there were over 2,000 images and videos in the highest category of offensive photographs. There were a total of around 4,000 other offensive images found on computers when police visited Masters’ home. She said officers from the Internet Sex Offences Team raided the address on July 4 last year. They discovered three computers, all of which had indecent images on them. Analysis showed Masters, of Manor Farm in Goxhill, had used Skype to share videos and communicate with people with whom he shared indecent images. He also visited chatrooms to incite children into sexual activity, grooming them and inviting them to North Lincolnshire to meet for sex. Miss Holmes said the 11 offences were committed between 2013 and 2017, although one of his older computers showed evidence of sharing indecent images back in 2004. Harrowing evidence was read out by Miss Holmes of some of the vile communications he made with children. Masters was jailed for five years and was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
