MAN JAILED FOR EXPOSING HIMSELF AND ABUSING RAIL STAFF AT TONBRIDGE STATION
A man named David Makuyana has been sentenced to 16 weeks in prison after an incident at Tonbridge Railway Station on July 1, where he exposed himself and attempted to urinate on rail staff.
According to court reports, Makuyana, who has no fixed address, was behaving disruptive on a train, shouting, swearing, and urinating in a plastic bottle.
Staff asked him to disembark at Tonbridge around 10.40pm, but he refused and became aggressive.
He verbally abused one staff member, raised his fists at another, and then exposed himself and tried to urinate on one of the staff members.
Despite efforts by the public and staff, Makuyana continued his abusive behaviour, refusing to calm down.
When he attempted to get on another train after being refused entry, British Transport Police officers arrived and arrested him.
Makuyana pleaded guilty to charges of indecent exposure and causing fear of provocation of violence through threatening words or behaviour.
During sentencing, he was ordered to pay court and victim costs, and he is required to register as a sex offender for seven years.
Investigating officer DC Ellen Lira emphasized that such behaviour towards rail staff is taken very seriously, and offenders will be prosecuted.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.
