EXETER PAEDOPHILE DAVID KITTLETY CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES, DOLLS, AND CLOTHES
In August 2022, a disturbing case emerged involving a paedophile from Exeter, identified as David Kittlety, who was arrested following a detailed police investigation into his online activities and personal possessions.The authorities' intervention was prompted after they seized a doll that Kittlety had ordered, which led to a comprehensive search of his residence and electronic devices.
Officers executed a search warrant at Kittlety’s home in Exeter, located in Galahad Close, where they seized five computer devices for analysis.
The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of online searches and digital storage related to child sexual abuse.
Kittlety had been actively searching the internet for images and videos depicting child abuse, and these illicit files were organized into folders with titles such as 'Cute,' indicating a disturbing attempt to categorize and perhaps fetishize the content.
Further examination of his computers uncovered a staggering collection of illegal material.
In total, 1,282 images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children were found, with 242 of these classified as representing the most extreme forms of abuse.
The material included not only photographs but also videos showing children as young as two years old being subjected to sexual acts.
The digital content also contained approximately 2,000 prohibited images, which are considered illegal due to their nature, and dozens of files depicting animal abuse, highlighting a broader pattern of disturbing interests.
In addition to the digital evidence, police discovered that Kittlety possessed a collection of children's clothing and several dolls, which further indicated his sexual interest in children.
His online activity extended to searching the dark web for more illicit images and stories related to sexual abuse, demonstrating a persistent and deliberate engagement with illegal content.
Kittlety, who resides in Exeter, admitted to three charges of making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornographic images, and possessing prohibited cartoon-style images of children.
The Exeter Crown Court was informed that his actions and online searches made it clear he had a sexual interest in children, raising significant concerns about public safety.
In sentencing, the court imposed an 18-month community order, which includes 20 days of rehabilitation activities and 80 hours of unpaid work.
Kittlety was also ordered to pay costs amounting to £620, and he is subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
Additionally, he must register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from further harm.
