He was jailed for committing further sex offences while serving a suspended jail term after paedophile hunters live-streamed him trying to meet up with three underage teenage girls in October last year. Prior to meeting the decoys Halford-Lodge – believing them to be young girls – had encouraged them to touch themselves sexually – using overly sexual remarks. He also sent them images of his private parts The court heard that Halford-Lodge’s Chesterfield tenancy breach, with a woman and her young daughter, had occurred unbeknown to Judge Smith when he jailed the defendant in May this year. However the judge ruled that, had he known of the breach at the time, it would not have resulted in a longer jail term. Halford-Lodge, formerly of Clarendon Road, Chesterfield, admitted breaching a sexual harm prevention order and failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register. He was handed six-month concurrent sentences for both charges. Judge Shaun Smith QC told him: “In May I sentenced you and made strong remarks about you breaching your suspended sentence and sexual harm prevention order. “I gave you 26 months – had I known these matters were to be brought before the court I could have sentenced you for all the matters together. “But I don’t believe I would have gone beyond the 26 months I gave you.” Judge Smith warned Halford-Lodge when he is released from custody on licence any further offences would result in him being returned to jail. At same court on Tuesday, May 18, he was sentenced after pleading guilty to four counts of attempting to cause a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, as well as breaching his suspended sentence and sexual harm prevention order. Holford-Lodge, of Clarendon Road, Inkersall, Chesterfield, was jailed for 26 months. The incidents are similar in nature to those he pleaded guilty to in October last year. On that occasion he encouraged three decoy social media accounts to touch themselves sexually, used overly sexual remarks to them and sent them images of his private parts. He was then confronted by the self-styled paedophile hunter group who ran the accounts, who broadcast the meeting and his arrest live on Facebook. When he was hauled before Derby Crown Court over the incidents in October last year, he pleaded guilty to a number of offences. These included three counts of intentionally communicating with an underage girl for the purposes of sexual gratification, one count of attempting to cause or incite a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity and three counts of attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 15 to engage in sexual activity. On that occasion he was given an eight-month jail term, suspended for two years, ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work and attend 30 rehabilitation sessions.
