April 2016 Flasher avoids jail despite exposing himself to 11-year-old girls in Halesowen A FLASHER who pulled his trousers down in front of two 11-year-old schoolgirls in Hurst Green has avoided jail. David Hannon, aged 37, was in his parked van when the two girls approached, then with his trousers down he drove in front of them asking them: “Do you want to have a look?” Geoffrey Dann prosecuting said the actions of Hannon had been upsetting but fortunately they had not had long standing consequences or the victims. Hannon, of Scotland Lane, Birmingham admitted committing an indecent act in a public place and he was given an eight month jail term suspended for 18 months. He was further placed on supervision for 18 months, told to register as a sex offender for seven years, to pay £1,500 costs and banned from working with children. Judge John Wait told Wolverhampton Crown Court it was a serious offence and children had to be protected. But he added that Hannon had already been punished heavily because of the shame he felt as a result of his offending.
