DAVID FRY AND ALLAN CHADWICK SENTENCED IN BRACKNELL CHILD ABUSE CASES FROM CLEVEDON AND TEDDINGTON

In a significant development in the fight against child abuse, two men have been convicted and sentenced following extensive investigations carried out by the Child Abuse Investigative Unit (CAIU) in Berkshire East. These convictions highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to protect vulnerable children and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable.

David Fry, a 31-year-old resident of King Edwards Grove in Teddington, Middlesex, received a substantial prison sentence of 14 years. His conviction stemmed from 12 counts of rape and five counts of indecent assault, all committed against two young girls. The offences took place at an address in the Bracknell area, which is part of Berkshire East. Fry’s trial lasted ten days, from January 6 to January 16, 2009, during which the jury deliberated on the evidence presented. Ultimately, Fry was found guilty of 17 charges, though he was acquitted of two additional counts of indecent assault.

Meanwhile, Allan Chadwick, aged 60 and residing in Chapel Hill, Clevedon, was also brought to justice. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to all 12 charges against him. These included six counts of rape and six counts of indecent assault. The offences involved a female victim who was living in the Bracknell area at the time they occurred. Chadwick’s guilty plea was entered during the proceedings, which underscored his acknowledgment of the crimes committed against the young woman.

Both men appeared before Reading Crown Court on Friday, February 13, 2009, where their sentences were officially handed down. The convictions serve as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and the relentless pursuit of justice in cases of child abuse. Detective Inspector Brian McDaid commented on the case, emphasizing the seriousness with which police and partner agencies treat such offences. He expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all involved, including the victims, their families, and the investigative teams, in bringing these offenders to justice. The case underscores the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to safeguarding children and ensuring that those who commit such heinous acts are held accountable.
