ANGUS FISH AND CHIP SHOP OWNER DAVID CRABB ON SEX OFFENDER REGISTER AFTER SEXUAL AND HOMOPHOBIC COMMENTS IN BRECHIN
An Angus-based fish and chip shop owner has been placed on the sex offenders register after inappropriate conduct involving a schoolboy.
David Crabb, who operates Trinity Fish Bar and Restaurant in Brechin, pleaded guilty to encouraging a teenage boy to perform a sex act on him.
The minor, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions, also reported that Crabb had made homophobic comments towards him two weeks prior.
The teenager described that Crabb made remarks such as calling him a "little p ****".
Crabb, 64 years old, is the director and catering manager of the business.
He was sentenced at Forfar Sheriff Court last week after admitting to two charges related to the minor.
Between July 15 and July 31, 2020, Crabb acknowledged to repeatedly behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by making homophobic remarks towards the boy.
Additionally, on August 2, 2020, he pleaded guilty to communicating indecently with the teenager and asking him to get on his knees and perform a sex act.
Crabb resides near his business on Trinity Road.
As part of his sentence, he has been placed on the sex offenders register for six months.
He was also sentenced to a community payback order, which requires him to complete unpaid work.
