In a significant case that has shocked the community of Southampton, David Connell, a man previously employed as a hospital porter, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 13 years for a series of severe sexual offences committed against children during the 1970s.Connell, aged 61 at the time of sentencing, was convicted after a court heard detailed accounts of his heinous actions, which involved two young girls enduring years of abuse. The court was informed that Connell had pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including rape, gross indecency, and indecent assault, all of which took place approximately three decades ago.
