DAVID CLARKE ILKESTON'S SHOCKING PORN AND CHILD EXPLOITATION CASE REVEALED

In February 2013, authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of explicit material linked to David Clarke, a resident of Ockbrook Court in Ilkeston. The investigation began when police in Eastbourne recovered a lost mobile phone, which was subsequently handed over to local officers. The phone contained a series of explicit text messages, some of which appeared to involve discussions about children, raising immediate concerns about potential exploitation.

Derbyshire police, upon examining the device, discovered that the owner was Clarke, a 43-year-old man from Ilkeston. This discovery prompted a thorough search of Clarke’s residence, leading to his arrest. During the subsequent investigation, authorities uncovered a video depicting a tiger engaging in sexual activity with a woman. The footage was particularly shocking, as it appeared to involve no apparent force or sedation of the animal, although the origin of the footage remained unclear.

Clarke was brought before Derby Crown Court, where he faced charges related to the possession of extreme pornography and the distribution of indecent images of children. During the court proceedings, he admitted to possessing such material and to distributing indecent photographs involving minors. The court heard that Clarke had a history of involvement with explicit content, which he claimed to have ceased using the internet for, stating that he only maintained a Facebook account.

Judge Ebrahim Mooncey sentenced Clarke to a 12-month prison term, which was suspended for 18 months. Additionally, Clarke was ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid community service and to pay £435 in prosecution costs. The judge also mandated that Clarke register as a sex offender and prohibited him from working with children for a period of ten years. In his remarks, Judge Mooncey emphasized the severity of Clarke’s actions, noting that he had engaged in the distribution and possession of highly disturbing images over a period of time. The judge acknowledged Clarke’s early guilty plea and lack of legal representation during the trial, which may have influenced the sentencing.

Prosecutor Katarina Sjolin highlighted that the investigation into the lost phone revealed explicit messages involving discussions about children, which was a significant concern for authorities. She explained that police were surprised by the content, which indicated a disturbing interest in minors. Clarke denied that he found the images sexually arousing, attempting to distance himself from the material.

Following the case, Detective Constable Tarj Nizzer commented on the tiger video, stating that it was difficult to determine where the footage was filmed. He noted that there was no evidence of animal sedation or force used, but emphasized the importance of investigating such material thoroughly. Nizzer expressed satisfaction that Clarke had pleaded guilty, viewing it as a message that law enforcement takes the possession and distribution of indecent material very seriously and will pursue such cases diligently.
